In the framework of the Kolarctic CBC-funded international project «I2P: From Idea to Printing of Metal Products» a team of experts from NArFU has taken part in the VII International Military Forum «Army-2021».
The event was held last week at Kubinka Air Base (Moscow Oblast) and included conferences, round tables and various thematic briefings.
Alexei Prokhorov, I2P project thematic leader, and Andrei Dumansky, Head of Lab at Technological Transport Facilities and Equipment Engineering Department, NArFU Higher School of Engineering, contributed to a round table discussion devoted to additive manufacturing as an innovative platform for operational repair of surface vessels’ power units. The event included presentations on latest relevant research and additive manufacturing application by experts from leading universities and businesses affiliated with the Russian Armed Forces, including among others ROSTECH and ROSATOM.
One of the trip’s key outcomes was establishment of cooperation with St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University focused primarily on experience sharing in connection with possible creation of an additive manufacturing lab at NArFU.
